The Inception and Birthing of DOCWRITE
An application that helps you streamline your technical writing process
Writing articles became a thing that most software engineers began to adopt because it was one of the best and fastest means of teaching and explaining tech-related topics and dishing out stuff for people to learn from. Several blogs out there allow you to create articles and publish them but as a Software engineer and technical writer, I had a personal experience that I realized most technical writers were also facing.
A lot of people find it difficult to structure their articles. They always find themselves having issues with layout, not knowing what comes first in terms of listing, paragraphs, subtitles, placing images, etc. Even with good content, the article still comes out poorly articulated because it wasn't properly structured. This issue birthed the idea of "DOCWRITE".
What is DOCWRITE
Docwrite is an application that allows technical writers to leverage pre-designed templates to create different types of articles. this product helps to streamline your technical writing process and your technical writing journey. Docwrite offers you several types and categories of templates for different types of articles. Users can browse for article templates under some of the categories listed below:
- Introductory articles
- How-to Guides
- case study
- Code samples
- Comparison and similarities
- many more templates...
These templates help to make the work a lot easier by having you just change/override the content of the templates to whatever content you've come up with (not worrying about the layout and structure of the article).
The Main Goal of building DOCWRITE
The main goal behind Docwrite is to make the process of creating articles seamless and easy with just you having to worry about content (We are currently putting the works of you not to even worry about that in the coming months). We do the dirty work of providing you with several templates that suit the different types of articles you intend to create and also allow you to export your created articles to Markdown and HTML formats which most blogs use.
What to expect from DOCWRITE moving forward
Docwrite is a work in progress and a lot of features have been released while some are still in the development stage. One major takeaway here is that the current stage of Docwrite provides you with the article creation process, template usage, and export options. To be a part of what we are doing, visit docwrite.io to get started.
Fun Fact: This article itself was created using a Docwrite template and was exported to markdown format (haha)
